EP / Director of Photography
Jake sets up lighting, audio, and multiple cameras for interviews, live shots, and corporate videos. He brings additional videographers, sound techs, makeup artists, and crews as needed. He also steps back and leads teams as an Executive Producer.
AI Video Generation
Jake is fluent with AI video generation tools (Google Veo3, Sora, Runway ML, etc) and can help clients generate content from scratch, or generate additional content from elements already on hand.
Field Producing
His deep editorial and production background is a unique combination that allows him to oversee multiple aspects of production when clients are in a resource pinch. At CNN he was regularly called upon to field produce for network correspondents as the only US Photojournalist authorized to do so.
Editing
He can edit your first draft or all the drafts. In the field on tight deadline, or in the office working on a planned corporate project. Custom outputted and raw files can be delivered however you need (FTP, Dropbox, LiveU, etc).
Drone
Jake was first licensed by the FAA in 2016 and has maintained his Part 107 certification ever since. He helped form the pathway for legal UAV flights in Chicago with the OEMC and Parks Department and for years was the only person the city specifically allowed to fly. He also helped start CNN's aviation unit in 2016 when the industry was in its infancy. He is fully licensed and insured.
